Documenting Hack Reactor 19 Week Coding Bootcamp
My weekly sharing of thoughts, perspectives and lifestyle throughout the program.
About Hack Reactor Project
During my time in the 19-week Hack Reactor Bootcamp, I found inspiration from various sources, particularly from AP and his weekly Youtube episodes where he shared his experience in the course. I am grateful to AP for his genuine thoughts and experiences. I completed the course while residing in Colombia and even traveled to New York City to attend a conference. My purpose in documenting my journey is to showcase and share what it means to pursue a career as a Software Engineer with a global perspective.
Weekly Hack Reactor Reviews

This week marks the completion of our group’s Module 3 full-stack web applications. I’m grateful to have been on a five-person team where members were focused on achieving our Minimal viable product delivered on the due date, and everyone played a part in the project’s design, building, and debugging. I now only have two weeks left of the program, which consists of a final exam on Monday, career service activities, applying for roles, and continual prepping and building upon interview strategies.

In this week's Hack Reactor video documentation, I share footage of the happenings in Santa Rosa de Cabal, Colombia, with eating out, the hot springs near the town, dancing, WebSockets, and where our team project is currently. Additionally, I share insights from my conversations with industry professionals on topics such as coding assessments and understanding the hiring manager's perspective.

Welcome to my Week 11 thoughts. The two main highlights for this week were our practice test for a module that consisted of 28 questions and our project for Module 2, which consisted of working with the same partner from our partner project and building the backend for two microservices, and then building out the front end our app using the React library framework to display forms and list that we created for our data. The test consisted of 28 questions that covered concepts of Docker, React, Optimal messaging service (Polling, Pub/Sub, and Queue), solving Javascript and Python coding challenges, and questions regarding the context map and Domain Driven Design. Below are images of my designs for better understanding how Docker works under the hood.

This week was a comprehensive week of learning the technologies of Python, Javascript, React, and Docker, as well as gaining insights from an informational interview with a former Hack Reactor alumni and taking a break with planned family outings. Nevado del Ruiz is still being monitored for a possible eruption, and a barbecue meet-up with some friends from Alaska is planned for the upcoming weekend.

If you're looking to get a comprehensive understanding of Week 8 of the Hack Reactor Coding Bootcamp, then this is the blog post for you. Here, I'll review a wide range of topics, from Docker and microservices to AI, the differences between Python and JavaScript, and of course, the looming eruption of a volcano in Colombia. Of course, I'll also provide an inside look into semana santa here in Santa Rosa de Cabal. With detailed analysis and helpful tips, you won't want to miss out on this blog post.

Living in Medellín, Colombia, this week has been a rewarding and valuable experience as I explore new technologies such as Docker, API requests, and Ubiquitous Language. I have learned how to use these tools to build better web applications, increase my understanding of Domain-Driven Design (DDD), compare Entities vs. Value Objects approaches for software development, and become adept with concepts such as JSON format, aggregates data design AI and Chat GPT.
