Book Review Homo Deus A Brief History of Tomorrow by Yuval Noah Harari

SIX WORD πŸ“šSUMMARY: The Future May Be Human God

Xander Clemens in Seward, Alaska reading the book Homo Deus by Yuval Noah Harari

"RAVEN STEALS THE SUN, MOON AND STARS" Mural by Jennifer Headtke is located in Alaska's Mural Capital of Seward. The second book was written by Yuval Noah Harari, Homo Deus: A Brief History of Tomorrow. Just as easily readable as Sapiens, without the jargon and simultaneously providing a positive challenge for one's thoughts. I immensely enjoyed Chapter 5 on the role of stories among human societies and Chapter 11 on dataism being a crucial part of society. I believe it is essential to have time to reflect on society and how it operates. Your role in the picture of where you live and do and how studying history helps aid in the possibilities, we have to create for ourselves in our lives.

My favorite quotes from Yuval Noah Harari

"This is the best reason to learn history: not in order to predict the future but to free yourself of the past and imagine alternative destinies. Of course, this is not total freedom – we cannot avoid being shaped by the past. But some freedom is better than none."

"The greatest scientific discovery was the discovery of ignorance. Once humans realized how little they knew about the world, they suddenly had a very good reason to seek new knowledge, which opened up the scientific road to progress."
