Picture was taken in Seward, Alaska next to the “Salmon Double Take” mural by Kwangsook Schaefermeyer. The Human Age: The World Shaped By Us by Diane Ackerman led to many insights, one of which was the different species involved in wars. For example, glowworms were used to light soldiers' maps in WWI and carry pigeons like Cher Ami, who delivered 12 messages before being shot down and receiving a war medal from the French for her heroic actions. In addition, dolphins are trained to detect mines and remote-controlled insects. I believe in reading and exposing your mind to books outside your regular study habit, and this book fits that description. I purchased this book at Title Wave in Anchorage, Alaska, a great place to go and spend an afternoon browsing for books to read.
"These days, startling though the thought is, we control our legacy. We're not passive, and we're not helpless. We're earth-movers. We can become Earth-restorers and Earth-guardians. We still have time and talent, and we have a great many choices. As I said at the beginning of this mental caravan, our mistakes are legion, but our imagination is immeasurable."
I'd be happy to discuss your project and how we can work together to create unique, fun and engaging content.
