Book Review The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho

Six-Word πŸ“š Summary: Spend Life Pursuing YOUR Personal Legend

Xander Clemens is in Polynésie Française Tahiti Papeete reading the book The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho

I first learned about this book when listening to an interview with Will Smith talking about living your life and shaping what you do, similar to the premise of the story of The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. The report depicts the themes of living our dreams, embracing the uncertainty of life, and rising to meet our unique destiny. Thank you, Emily Beam, for sharing your book with me. It a quite an enjoyable read. Many individuals widely regard The Alchemist as one of the top 10 books of the 20th century. Without prejudice, I would recommend a read for the emotional and spiritual perspective. And blessed to have watched an hour of sunset in beautiful Papeete, Tahiti, French Polynesia. I read this book while working on the Celebrity Solstice cruise ship.

I want to do my best and put at least one thing I learn from reading into action and avoid being a consumer of knowledge and never putting it into action (I call this a prosumer or a producer). It is so easy to say positive things and tell others positive statements or requote what you read in a book or listen to and find yourself in a limbo of feeling like you are doing the right thing by saying all this stuff when at the end of the day you either generated momentum for yourself by growing from taking action or you slowly withered away and inching closer to death. I will always choose growth. I mention this for my thoughts and understanding, but I don't want just to read. I want to read to put what I read into motion. For me, this book represents that I alone am responsible for my life and getting what I want in life and doing everything I possibly can with every situation I experience and face, always taking action, getting back up, and finding/creating the empowering meanings to EVERY situation that comes my way!

My favorite Paulo Coelho quotes

"It's the possibility of having a dream come true that makes life interesting."

"And, when you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it."

"There is only one thing that makes a dream impossible to achieve: the fear of failure."
