Six Word πŸ“šSummary: Legends Aren't Born. They Are Made.

Xander Clemens is in Esperance, Western Australia reading the book Coach Wooden by Pat Williams

Coach Wooden by Pat Williams focuses on the seven principles that shaped his life and will change yours. This photo was taken while working on my second cruise ship, the Celebrity Solstice, and the ship was anchored in Esperance, Western Australia. My father, Alan Clemens, was a coach for every sport in high school throughout the United States. He was a strong belief in following his principles of coaching his athletes by modeling after highly successful coaches, one of which was John Wooden. The former UCLA basketball coach has a record of ten national champions teams he has led to a victory that I am still untouched at the time of writing this post. No matter what the industry or area a person is massively successful in when studying that individual, you can always find data to help better your life and if you are ever in a tuff place throughout your life, find someone you look up to and study them and learn about the failures and how this propelled them and their massive success. I am not perfect, and reading books doesn't mean I'm always making the best decisions in my life. Still, I know that many humans before me have done incredible things with their life by digging deep, not giving up, flexing discipline, taking action, and just caring about the momentum. So my momentum is rising north on the up. Sometimes my ship will get blown down south by the wind, but I will always find a way to move my ship and steer it north on the up and up. And I am never losing sight of others and doing my best to help and empower others. I am grateful I take the time to write my thoughts out on my website to help with my mental health and be able to express myself. I hope that my words can help set an example that I am not perfect, but I strive every day with my energy to continue to push forward in improving every day.

Coach John Wooden's seven principles:

1. Be true to yourself.

2. Help others.

3. Make each day your masterpiece.

4. Drink deeply from good books, especially the bible.

5. Make friendship a fine art.

6. Build a shelter against a rainy day by the life you live.

7. Pray for guidance and counsel, and give thanks for your blessings each day.

My favorite quotes from Coach Wooden by Pat Williams

Books are not "lumps of lifeless paper, but minds alive on the shelves. From each of them goes out its voice... and just as the touch of a button on our set will fill the room with music, so by taking down one of these volumes and opening it, one can call into range the voice of a man far distant in time and space, and hear him speaking to us, mind to mind, heart to heart."- Gilbert Higher.

"Books are the quietest and most constant of friends; they are the most accessible and wisest of counselors, and the most patient of teachers." - Charles W. Eliot.
