Book Review for The Better Angeles of our Nature by Steven Pinker

SIX WORD 📚 SUMMARY: Noting Life Quality From Various Perspectives

Xander Clemens in Anchorage, Alaska reading The Better Angeles of our Nature by Steven Pinker

The Better Angels of Our Nature by Steven Pinker is a presentation of viewing the world from the lens of how our society has dramatically improved over the centuries and how we live in a more (haha, by no means perfect) civilized society. Steven Pinker's book does just that for individuals who like to have reliable data presented when observing another's point of view. Bill Gates called this book, "My favorite book of the last decade is [Steven] Pinker's Better Angels of Our Nature. It is a long but profound look at reducing violence and discrimination over time." I've enjoyed learning from Mr. Pinker through several of his books, speeches, and debates. Side note to stay warm in the snow, read a book.

"It's natural to think that living things must be the handiwork of a designer. But it was also natural to think that the sun went around the earth. Overcoming naive impressions to figure out how things work is one of humanity's highest callings." - Steven Pinker.

"The only people who should be allowed to govern countries with nuclear weapons are mothers, those who are still breastfeeding their babies."--Tsutomu Yamaguchi, the only survivor of both the Hiroshima and Nagasaki atomic bombings."- Steven Pinker
